What Goes Into Our Pricing?
We know that price is a big factor in purchasing a new puppy but as we’ve learned, there simply isn’t a such thing as a “cheap” well bred dog of any kind.
Whether you choose us to provide a new family member or not, at least consider the following questions:
Are the dams and sires health tested and cleared?
Do puppies come with a health guarantee?
If they don’t, I would move on. It’s not worth ending up with a puppy who inherits any sort of genetic issue… this just leads to medical fees, surgeries, and heartache. At that point you’ll end up spending much more on vet bills than simply purchasing a healthy puppy.
We aren’t saying that health tested parents always lead to a perfect puppy BUT it does give you a much greater chance of having a healthy dog. This is a new member of the family right? Ask the breeder to show you health certifications or testing before committing to any puppy. No reputable breeder will even bat an eyelash at this request!
The average price of one of our puppies is typically $3,800 — $4,500.
We believe that we, KelleyDoodles, are an honest, fair and well respected breeder.
We breed our dogs with the intention of becoming healthy, happy, smart additions to ANY family! We strongly believe that personality and health trumps all things, and goes much further than coat color or any physical attributes. We very rarely reduce the pricing of any of our puppies. This is not only a labor of love, but also our business and livelihood. We charge an amount that makes the high care we take of our dogs possible. Between quality food & treats, flea & tick medicine, registration of dogs & litters, heart worm medication, any & all vet fees, breeding fees and stud fees, our pricing is extremely reasonable.
Now for help on the scammers out there… You know they’re not a good breeder if:
They refuse to show you where their dogs are kept/raised.
They want to meet you somewhere instead of allowing you to come see their home.
They won’t tell you how many dogs they own, or let you meet any of them.
They do not have a written health guarantee, contract, or any sort of proof of sale to mention.
Don’t let yourself get talked into something that feels wrong simply because the price is right. It almost always ends in disappointment.
What Do Puppies Come Home With?
All puppies go home up to date on shots & de-wormings as well as being vet cleared, with all paperwork. We take it a step further by providing a 72 hour general health guarantee and a one year genetic health guarantee. We also provide a small baggy of starter food, a blanket with littermate’s scent on it, a baggie of potty pellets that puppies have been potty trained with, and a goodie bag of puppy essentials.
All puppy deposits are non-refundable. Deposits may be transferred between litters simply to give our clients flexibility. At KelleyDoodles, the most important thing to us is placing healthy puppies with the right families. In the end, that’s all that really matters right?
